BUY BLACK MARKETPLACE

During Black History Month 2024 one of the first things I did was attend BlacklistNYC’s Buy Black Marketplace at Pier 57 in New York City, and needless to say it was amazing. On the wall in the entryway was breathtaking quilt made by Jessica B Harris. Better known as the “The Legacy Quilt” is made up of 406 blocks that include each African-American contribution to American cuisine. When I entered, it was nice to see Black entrepreneurs have the chance to receive brand exposure in such a diverse high traffic area. Grabbing my attention with the black crossword puzzle, I had to visit the Pache Studio pop-up. Pache Studio had a variety of earrings and I couldn’t leave without purchasing a pair. Needless to say, BlacklistNYC’s Buy Black Marketplace at Pier 57 was an event I was proud to support.
